About Classical Guitar Weekend

Now in its eighth year, Classical Guitar Weekend 2008 will feature seven internationally acclaimed artists in a concentrated series of recitals, master classes and lecture demonstrations: Jonathan Leathwood, six and ten string guitars, with Rohan de Saram, cello (formerly of the renowned Arditi String Quartet); Nigel North, Renaissance and Baroque lutes; SoloDuo (Lorenzo Micheli and Matteo Mela), guitar duo; Stephen Goss, composer; and Cleveland Institute of Music Guitar Department Head Jason Vieaux.

Both the diverse geographical origins of our artists and audience participants over the years, fourteen states and as many foreign countries, and the even more diverse time and geographical origins of the compositions our artists have performed - testify to the fact that the arts we honor here are now, more than ever, timeless, heartfelt and universal. Please join us in this year’s celebration of art music, solo and ensemble, old and new.

Classical Guitar Weekend is presented by Guitars International in cooperation with the Cleveland Institute of Music with generous additional support from the Cleveland, Ohio community and beyond.
