Fashioned after the vintage 1940 Rose Augustine Hauser I classical guitar that Julian Bream performed and recorded with towards the end of his active international touring career - Southwell's beautiful Hauser copies capture the essence of their illustrious progenitor (even down to the original instrument's soundboard and back tap tones) with uncanny accuracy.
Expect an aged Old World quality to this new classical guitar's elegant sound: profoundly deep basses, pure ringing operatic trebles. wide color palette, excellent projection and superb playability.
Materials: Dark brown/black straight grain Indian, creamy close straight grain European spruce soundboard - beautiful ultra violet aged, hand rubbed French polish of shellac finish on the soundboard for optimum acoustic response, amber oil varnish finish on the sides and back for durability - perfectly executed "V" graft head to neck joint, Rodgers precision tuning machines (the finest in the world) with ebony buttons, 650mm string length Galli Genius Normal Tension Strings.
